Who doesn’t want to find a pirate map, a key, and a hidden treasure! The 2001 game by Ravensburger of Pirate’s Treasure takes this exciting adventure to the game table.  Players even get to hide treasures, set traps, and strategically place other items on another player’s game board to try and make it more difficult for their opponents to find their treasures!

Who will be the first player to complete their treasure hunt?  That is the challenge.

Pirate’s Treasure Game Pieces: Board, Tiles, Gold Coins, Die, and Pawn

Each player begins with a game board and a set of 30 tiles. Players will each strategically, and secretly place, these tiles face down, on their boards.  Once all tiles are placed, the game boards get passed to the player on their left.  They now have to ‘find’ what their opponents hid.

The tiles consist of:  3 Maps, 3 Keys, 3 Treasure Chests, 2 Storms, 2 Quicksands, 3 Pirate’s Scopes, 4 Pirates, 4 Gold Coin Piles, 1 Buccaneer, and 5 Blanks.

On the roll of a die, players move over the tiles looking for the 3 Maps, 3 Keys, and 3 Treasure Chests.  In that order.  When a player lands on a tile, according to the end of their roll, it is turned over. Depending on what is found determines what happens next.

Some tiles cause players to lose turns, others cause them to move back.  Players also try to collect gold coins along the way.

The game ends when a player has found all three of their Maps, Keys, and Treasure Chests in that sequence.

The added fun of hiding treasure and traps for your opponents is an exciting element of the game.
